Location
Casa Chica, front-line at Playa Chica beach, is a superb beach location

Beaches: Playa Chica, a 10 second walk (10m) is a pretty little cove surrounding by volcanic rocks, which is perfect for snorkelling and diving (a dive school is located here). Other sports enjoyed at Playa Chica are parascending, banana boat rides, single and double jet-skiing, Crazy UFO and Fly-boarding. The main beach, Playa Grande, a 8 minute walk (700m) east is a long stretch of fine grain sand with calm waters, a very gentle shelf and little current so paddling and swimming are very safe. The glass walkway, by the villa, takes you to the Fariones beach and then onto the main beach.

Supermarket: 4 minute walk (350m) north to a Spar and an 18 minute walk (1.2km) north to Lidl at No. 1, Calle Juan Carlos I. A large well-stocked supermarket with a great meat counter for your BBQ. When paying just ask a staff member to call a taxi for you and they will happily do so.

Local restaurants/ bars: 1 minute walk (70m) west to 'Restaurante Bar Playa'.

Main Beach Road: 4 minute walk (350m) north to the western end of Avenida de las Playas, the long 'strip' of restaurants, cafes, bars and shops of the greatest variety that runs parallel to Playa Grande. Beach-side, the palm-tree lined promenade is perfect for strolling, jogging, cycling on the red brick cycling lane (many bicycle renting places available), or just people watching.

Harbour: 6 minute walk (700m) along the coastal walk-way. There are a wide choice of restaurants and bars in the harbour area. Great for lunch, dinner or a drink while an adventure playground keeps the children amused. Lots of choice of boat trips from the harbour including a 50m deep trip on a submarine, scuba diving and the Water Taxi to the marina at Puerto Calero.

Shopping: Biosfera Shopping Plaza, 8 minute walk (900m) to No. 15, Calle Juan Carlos I. Four floors of shops, restaurants and amusements including Starlight Open Air cinema playing 2 English movies each evening, a billiard and pool hall, crazy golf, and Cine6D virtual reality motion rides.

Puerto Calero: 50 minute walk (4km) go west along the coastal walkway and you will reach the marina at Puerto Calero, where there are lovely restaurants and gorgeous shopping. This walk is very popular with our clients. There is also a water taxi from the Old Town harbour if you don’t fancy the walk either one way or both ways. The restaurants in Puerto Calero are perfect for a long lazy lunch. The Water Taxi back costs 6 Euros and the last one leaves about 5pm.

Zoo: Rancho Texas Lanzarote Park, a 5 minute drive (4.3km) has displays of birds of prey, sea lions, and parrots and cockatoos and you can also see exotic birds and reptiles, including the Komodo dragon. Also a cowboy lasso and whip show, and the children can enjoy canoeing and gold-panning, pony riding, and then cool off in the pool.

Golf: Lanzarote Golf - an 18 hole public course is a 8 minute drive away (3.1km).

Go Karting: Gran Karting, a go-karting track 15 minutes drive north-east (9km).

National Park: Timanfaya National Park, the natural wonder of Lanzarote has a unique 'Martian' landscape and rare plant species. To the El Diablo restaurant, a 34 minute drive (23km). A unique experience is it to take a camel ride across the volanic landscape (24 minute drive, 18km).

Water Park: Aqualava Water Park, a geothermally-heated water park, 32 minutes drive south-west (30km).

Markets: every Friday 10am - 4pm 100 stalls set up at the Plaza Varadero near the Old Town harbour for locally sourced fruit, vegetables and flowers, as well as handmade craft items, jewellery and clothes (700m). At nearby Tias, the Saturday morning 9am - 2pm Farmers market is an ideal place to purchase fresh locally produced vegetables much cheaper than the supermarkets (10 minute drive 6.5km north-east). Also, the biggest open-air street market in Lanzarote is on Sunday mornings 9am - 2pm in Teguise (31 minute drive 21km north-east).

Festivals: late February, revel at the Carnival or if you’re visiting in July, don’t miss the folklore performances, folk singing, dancing and vibrant processions at the Feast of St Carmen, patron saint of the city and fishermen.

What can I say, it was a pleasure to stay at this villa. Everything you could possibly need in the kitchen & the two terraces giving it a dual aspect meant the views were wonderful & the villa so light & airy. Staying in Casa Chica definitely contributed to it being a wonderful holiday this year. Rosy the manager is super efficient & very friendly. We would not hesitate to re-book this villa as it is simply the best. Thanks again. Casa Chica June 2018

Hello Sue and Andrea, we really enjoyed our stay in Lanzarote once more, thank you. Both villas Lahar and Chica were really first class…we can find nothing that could be improved. Everything was really lovely. We are hoping to book those same villas for next May…we will be in touch very soon. Casa Chica stayed May 2018 for the 3rd time

Hi Sue, as always, we had a wonderful stay at Chica, following the booking process which yourself & Andrea make such a pleasure. Location perfect, villa perfect, immaculate. Thoughtful touches in supplying wine & some basic necessities which were much appreciated after several hours in airports/aircraft. We were a family of 4 adults and a toddler but never felt cramped. Everything was immaculate but most importantly, the gorgeous Rosy was on hand to make sure everything was ok. She even paid a second visit as my husband & I weren't in when she came the first time round. She is an incredible person & we can't speak highly enough of her. Nothing is too much trouble. Dear Sue and Andrea, having returned from our holiday in Puerto del Carmen, we would like to show our appreciation to Rosy for making sure our stay in Casa Chica Villa was memorable. The location of the Villa was perfect. So close to the beach and a short walk to bars and restaurants. We found the villa to be very comfortable and well equipped with everything possible we could want. In all our stay was just perfect and we would have not hesitation in recommending it and we would envisage another possible stay there in the near future. Well done all involved!! Casa Chica Aug 2017

Dear Sue and Andrea, we are back in the UK and it gives me great pleasure to pen a recommendation for Lanzarote leisure villas not only for the quality of the villas but the very capable team who make sure our holiday runs smoothly. I have been a very happy client on the many times we have spent vacation time at Villa Benedicte, Villa Loretta and Casa Chica. From the time of the booking you have held my confidence because you have such high standards and are very honest, two ingredients which when unlocking the front door on arrival day assures me it's going to feel like I'm coming home. You must have a great relationship with your owners because they trust you to be selective as to who you recommend to share their holiday homes. That works well because it shows up in the number of repeats my family and other clients book with you. Thank you. Casa Chica Nov 2012, Sept 2013, Oct 2015 and Mar 2017

Over the years we have stayed many times in various Lanzarote Leisure properties – all of which have been beautiful – but Casa Chica is now our favourite. The location itself cannot be beaten. It is right on the beach and so handy for restaurants etc. The accommodation is excellent and everything you could possibly need is provided, a real home from home. Not forgetting Rosy who does all she can to help with whatever you ask of her. We will definitely be back. Casa Chica Oct 2015

Dear Sue, I just want you to know that we had a magnificent holiday at the Casa Chica. Everything was perfect and we want to return next summer. Erika Lopez ( the villa manager) was very helpful and nice, and so were the cleaners. Best location, lovely villa. We have been in Puerto del Carmen several times, but this holiday was definitely the best of them all! Thank you very much! Family Todal from Norway. Casa Chica Aug 2013

Just a note to let you know that we all had a wonderful time at the Casa Chica in early April. We were all very impressed with the villa - the location is superb and the facilities were very good. The standard of the accomodation was very high indeed. Also, one of the key things for us was the proximity to the beach - we went swimming at least once every day. Hopefully we will be returning to Lanzarote at some point in the next 12 months or so, so maybe if we are very lucky, we will be able to stay there again! Casa Chica April 2011

Hello Sue, I would just like to tell you how happy we are with our choice of holiday villa – Casa Chica was just perfect! We felt at home from the moment we arrived. The location was the best(!), with lovely sun terraces with sun all day long – also the weather was sunny all week. Close to our favourite restaurant too. We did not want to leave Casa Chica – and we would very much like to rent again same time next year – maybe two weeks then! Casa Chica Jan 2011
