Villa de Carrida, Old Town, Puerto del Carmen.
The villa is in an upmarket, residential part of Puerto known as Risco Prieto. It is in a very quiet street but still close to amenities.

Supermarket: 4 minute walk (350m) to a Spar. Also a 23-24 minute walk (1.8km) east to Lidl at No. 1, Calle Juan Carlos I. A large well-stocked supermarket with a great meat counter for your BBQ. When paying just ask a staff member to call a taxi for you and they will happily do so.

Local restaurants/ bars: 3 minute walk (300m).

Shopping: Biosfera Shopping Plaza, a 16-17 minute walk (1.2km) to No. 15, Calle Juan Carlos I. Four floors of shops, restaurants and amusements including Starlight Open Air cinema playing 2 English movies each evening, a billiard and pool hall, crazy golf, and Cine6D virtual reality motion rides.

Harbour: To the marina board-walk, a 7 minute walk (500m) down the steps or an 8 minute walk (550m) down the walk-way, which is ideal for prams/buggies or wheelchairs. There are a wide choice of restaurants and bars in the harbour area (700m). Great for lunch, dinner or a drink while an adventure playground keeps the children amused. Lots of choice of boat trips from the harbour including trips on a submarine, scuba diving and the Water Taxi to the marina at Puerto Calero.

Beaches: Playa Chica, a 17-18 minute walk (1.4km) is a pretty little cove surrounding by volcanic rocks, which is perfect for snorkelling and diving (a dive school is located here). Other sports enjoyed at Playa Chica are parascending, banana boat rides, single and double jet-skiing, Crazy UFO and Fly-boarding. The main beach, Playa Grande, a 24-26 minute walk (1.9km) is a long stretch of fine grain sand with calm waters, a very gentle shelf and little current so paddling and swimming are very safe.

Main Beach Road: 20-22 minute walk (1.6km) to the western end of Avenida de las Playas, the long 'strip' of restaurants, cafes, bars and shops of the greatest variety that runs parallel to Playa Grande. Beach-side, the palm-tree lined promenade is perfect for strolling, jogging, cycling on the red brick cycling lane (many bicycle renting places available), or just people watching. Don’t forget taxi fares are inexpensive in Lanzarote if you don’t want to walk home.

Puerto Calero: 50 minute walk (4km) go west along the coastal walkway and you will reach the marina at Puerto Calero, where there are lovely restaurants and gorgeous shopping. This walk is very popular with our clients. There is also a water taxi from the Old Town harbour if you don’t fancy the walk either one way or both ways. The restaurants in Puerto Calero are perfect for a long lazy lunch. The Water Taxi back costs 6 Euros and the last one leaves about 5pm.

Golf: Lanzarote Golf - an 18-hole public course, 8 minute drive (4.8km).

Zoo: Rancho Texas Lanzarote Park, a 7 minute drive (5km). Displays of birds of prey, sea lions, and parrots and cockatoos and you can also see other exotic birds and reptiles, including the Komodo dragon. Also a cowboy lasso and whip show, and the children can enjoy canoeing and gold-panning, pony riding, and then cool off in the pool.

National Park: Timanfaya National Park, the natural wonder of Lanzarote has a unique 'Martian' landscape and rare plant species. To the El Diablo restaurant, a 30 minute drive (22km). A unique experience is it to take a camel ride across the volanic landscape (20 minute drive, 17km).

Go Karting: Gran Karting, a go-karting track 15 minutes drive north-east (13km).

Water Park: Aqualava Water Park - a geothermally-heated water park 30 minutes drive south-west (25km).

Markets: every Friday 10am - 4pm 100 stalls set up at the Plaza Varadero near the Old Town harbour for locally sourced fruit, vegetables and flowers, as well as handmade craft items, jewellery and clothes (600m). At nearby Tias, the Saturday morning 9am - 2pm Farmers market is an ideal place to purchase fresh locally produced vegetables much cheaper than the supermarkets (10 minute drive 6km north-east). Also, the biggest open-air street market in Lanzarote is on Sunday mornings 9am - 2pm in Teguise (28 minute drive 21km north-east).

Festivals: late February, revel at the Carnival or if you’re visiting in July, don’t miss the folklore performances, folk singing, dancing and vibrant processions at the Feast of St Carmen, patron saint of the city and fishermen.

Hi Sue and Andrea, thanks for all your help from start to finish, very professional and very friendly, We loved the villa and location, villa very clean and all that we needed, all the little details like spar towels etc and the clean halfway through, pool cleaned 2/3 times a week. (And a very friendly pool cleaner too) had a few problems with the gate lock. But was soon out to help us get in. Would definitely recommend this villa and company and will return one day. 10/10. We have just returned from spending a wonderful two weeks in this lovely Villa. This property is spacious and very well equipped for all your needs with the added bonus of air-con in all the bedrooms. The pool and outside space is perfect to spend relaxing days in the sun. The villa is perfectly situated in a lovely quiet area, but close enough to shops and restaurants. We will hopefully return to this villa next year. Villa de Carrida July 2019

Our group of 5 have just returned from 2 very enjoyable weeks on Lanzarote. We found Villa Carrida met our expectation and needs. It is a very good property situated in a nice, quiet location and close to a supermarket and restaurant also bars if one needed. Carrida was adequately furnished, well equipped and very clean and tidy both on take over and after the first week change of bedding, towels and light clean. I was very impressed with your attention to detail from the original booking date and found your local agent Erika and team complimented your standard well. The swimming pool was thoroughly maintained and was a 'hit' with all as there were Roman Steps rather than the 'usual' ladder and was heated to a very agreeable temperature. Would I return to Villa Carrida, definitely yes. It is the best villa I have booked on Lanzarote to date. Villa de Carrida March 2019

Villa Carrida was everything that we had hoped for. The villa is beautifully decorated and very well appointed. We had a slight problem with the toilet in the second bathroom but as soon as we reported it the staff in Lanzarote were straight on to it so we have no complaints. We have booked with you several times before over the years and always received an excellent service. This time was no different. We have already been looking at other villas on the website that might be better if we come with other family members but would definitely stay at Villa Carrida again. We will certainly be booking with you again in the future. Villa de Carrida Sept 2018

Hi Sue and Andrea, we had a wonderful time thank you. The villa was perfect for our needs, clean and tidy, in a quiet location, but with a spar and a few bars and restaurants on our door step if we didn’t fancy walking down to the harbour. The wifi and Sky channels worked very well, which hasn’t always been the case on previous holidays. We would definitely recommend your property to others without hesitation. We had a lovely time staying at Carrida Villa for 2 weeks. It had everything we needed for our holiday, including a full sky package on the tv, which meant my husband could watch MotoGP! It was in really good location with a great restaurant down the road (Mario's). It was really clean and well looked after, the pool was cleaned regularly and the villa was cleaned at the end of the first week. We would definitely recommend this villa, it is in a quiet area but only a 15 min walk to the marina. We had a great time and would stay there again. Villa de Carrida Aug 2018

Me and my wife have had several villa holiday's over the years - this is one of our favourites in terms of furnishings, cleanliness and facilities. The villa had absolutely everything we needed and has very been refurbished to a high standard. The walk in shower is great, beds comfortable and the layout in general was great for us e.g. all on one level (which helped with us having an 8 month old). The TV in the villa is set up with full sky package and lots of on demand movies which was great for me and our son (mainly me) to relax to during afternoon naps whilst my wife enjoyed the sun. The outdoor space is lovely, with a nice BBQ area and the pool a good size with walk in steps - we had the pool heated which I would definitely recommend. The pool was lovely and clean - the pool cleaner turned up twice during our 8 day stay to keep on top of things. The location is great, it is set in a very quiet part of puerto del carmen, fairly easy walking distance to the old town and harbour where there are plenty of bars and places to eat - the area is a little hilly but we found it okay and my wife has a bad hip and coped well. Local shops (Spar) and bars are very close by - we tended to get small bits, water and bread etc. from the spar each day but did our main shop at Lidl which is a short drive away. We had a hire car but could have coped without one as we did not really explore the island much during our stay, it was our first holiday with our newborn and we just wanted a relaxing quiet place with everything we needed close by and Carrida certainly delivered. If we are returning to the island in the future we would definitely look into booking this villa again. Villa de Carrida May 2018

Lovely Villa, excellent pool and outside area. The TV has loads of channels including being able to watch loads of football if that’s your thing. The kitchen is well equipped and there are 2 nice bathrooms one of which has a huge rainforest shower. The only thing I struggled with was the mattress as it was firm! Other than that the villa is in the best location in Puerto del Carmen. Shame there were no blow ups for the pool Thank you to Erika too. Villa de Carrida April 2018

The place was fine, clean, confortable and everything functioning very well. And also very silent, which we totally appreciated. The location is also fine, near the old part of Porto Carmen. And finally the support of Erika Lopez was just fine: first day, last day and if we had special wish or problem she was very quickly present and helpful. So again everything was fine. We will probably come back sometime and also recommend the address around us. Villa de Carrida Feb 2018

We really enjoyed our stay in Villa de Carrida. It was perfect, very spacious and in a quiet neighbourhood. The pool was a bit hit, lovely temperature and great size. I would really recommend the villa, it was very well maintained and modern with lots of kitchen equipment for preparing meals, but close enough to walk to local restaurants. I’m sure we will be back. Dear Sue and Andrea, just wanted to thank you for both villas we had an excellent holiday with fantastic weather! Carrida has really changed since we were there five years ago and is very bright with the air conditioning an excellent addition. The kitchen and utility area are lovely and so easy to use. We were slightly unlucky that the villa opposite was having a lot of work done on it so was not as quiet as usual. We still like the location of Carrida and it is beautifully decorated throughout. Thank you for all your help in booking etc the transition from one villa to the other was painless and Erika showed us Cielo (which is amazing) and the pool extension and updates to Benedicte since we last stayed there which is an amazing transformation. We will definitely be back in contact the next time we decide to go to Lanzarote! Thanks again. Villa de Carrida Aug 2017

Dear Sue & Andrea, thank you for making such an amazing holiday. The villa was immaculate and all people who tended to the garden pool and villa were very friendly approachable and helpful. The area is beautiful and we really couldn't recommend it enough. We had the peace, comfort and privacy we were craving to make it a holiday full of memories. We have already been looking at other villas you have near Villa Carrida for our next holiday, not because we wouldn't stay in the same villa again we would in a heartbeat but just to try them all !!! (You could keep us going for many years and then we could start going through them again). Your company made the whole experience seamless, from booking to organising transfers, you not only have the security of booking through a reputable agent but also the knowledge that if you have any problems or queries they will be dealt with efficiently and quickly. Booking the extra day was a big plus meaning we didn't need to leave the villa early and survive in the heat, my little boy who is autistic certainly benefited and ensured that our holiday didn't end with him getting upset and mommy and daddy getting stressed 😩. Finally the water, tea bags and milk when we got there were like our own pearl in the ocean and it was great to be able to just flick the kettle on and sit back and take in the beauty of the place, thank you for that. I couldn't fault anything about the holiday at all, apart from the having to come home lol. A huge thank you and well done to everyone!!!! Villa de Carrida July-Aug 2017

This is my 9th visit to Puerto Del Carmen. I'm here to celebrate my 20th wedding anniversary having first come here on honeymoon. I've stayed in many villas and the past four visits in one just behind this. I arrived last night and I'm blown away by the quality! Beautiful new kitchen with lots of nice touches, welcome items of milk and juice biscuits and condiments. The sofas, wifi and full tv are a real luxury compared to most villas I've stayed in. The most comfortable pillows and bed, I've always found beds too hard here. The bathrooms are beautiful. The garden and pool is stunning. My absolute joy is the interior design, the orange and pink detail and the beautiful art has had me googling for ages. If anyone knows where I can find the monks canvas I would love one! Stunning villa! Thank you (I hope to one day retire to this area. I have absolute envy of your beautiful home) Villa de Carrida April 2017

Stayed at this idealic villa for two weeks at the end of the summer. Cannot recommend it highly enough from its upmarket location to the high spec this luxury villa is maintained. The location of this villa is perfect for a relaxing holiday, walking distance to the harbour and many restaurants. The costal path made it a scenic walk down to the old town harbour. I would also recommend the lovely costal walk to Costa Calero for lunch and to return by ferry especially if accompanied by younger children. We did also rent bikes for a week during our stay and I would highly recommend the lovely couple at Revolution Bikes opposite Lidl. They were so obliging and even dropped us back to the villa when returning the bikes on the last day. The bikes were great especially when little legs got tired during our sight seeing tours of Puerto del Carmen. The nearest shop and butcher to the villa which is just a few minutes walk provide most daily essentials however we did do a bigger shop in the local Lidl store, approx 5 minute drive. The local butcher is of a high quality and would recommend getting your meat here especially for the many barbecues we enjoyed at the villa. Our party included two couples and our 3 year old daughter. She thoroughly enjoyed the superb swimming pool at the villa which was impeccably cleaned twice during our stay. We covered the pool each night as instructed by the management company and this ensured the pool was warm each morning for our early riser!! We tended to dine in on many occasions for lunch/dinner and the barbecue and terraced seating area made this perfect for us. The villa itself has three spacious bedrooms and two large bathrooms. The master bedroom with its own private courtyard was a real treat to escape to read a book during the day. The large lounge area with wifi and full sky package is ideal for families with young or older children to entertain. The kitchen has every amenity you could require and makes preparing meals very easy which is exactly what you want on holiday. Clean Towels and bed sheets were changed and supplied during our stay and the washing machine which actually washes clothes perfectly was a big plus especially with a young child. Erica and the villa management team were excellent and very prompt with their responses to any queries (usually within an hour or less of sending an email I got a response). This villa will not disappoint and we will most definitely return in the future. Villa de Carrida Aug 2016

We tend to rent villas for our annual summer holiday. Villa De Carrida did not disappoint. We have never stayed in a single storey villa before but will do so again after this holiday. The floor plan layout was ideal. All bedrooms were spacious and the beds very comfortable, wardrobes have a plentiful of hangers. The bathrooms are nicely furnished and huge! The kitchen is newly furnished with everything you require. The washing machine actually washed clothes sufficiently another first on our holiday. The information supplied informs you to put the pool cover on of an evening/night which we didn't do at the beginning of our holiday but soon realised that it is good advice. This was our first visit to Lanzarote and the wind certainly cools things down. I cannot fault Villa De Carrida we had a very private, quite, relaxing stay in the accommodation and a pleasant walk down to the bars and restaurants of an evening to enjoy the nightlife. Having teenagers with us this did mean that we didn't go to bed until 1 or 2 am in the morning. We hired a car for the two weeks and explored the island. It is not necessary to hire a car. It depends what you are looking for from your holiday. The management staff are fantastic and it was a really nice touch to have a representative visit on our first morning to provide us with lots of information on sightseeing etc. The cleaners were great! Whoever visits Villa De Carrida will have a lovely stay. Villa de Carrida July 2016

I would highly recommend a stay at this gorgeous villa! Myself and my partner spent a week here last winter and were really impressed with the space, cleanliness and privacy of this modern villa coupled with a lovely pool and lounge area we couldn't help but immediately relax! Located in the nicest part of town and only a short stroll to the bars and restaurants we were spoilt for choice! This has to be the nicest villa we have rented on the island and will definitely be returning! Villa de Carrida Dec 2014

Having stayed in a number of villas in Lanzarote, I found Villa Carrida to be excellent. Situated in a lovely quiet area of the old town but within 5 mins walking distance to the local shops, bars & restaurants. The villa is also beside the coastal walkway which means a leisurely walk down to the old town or head along the coastline to the marina at Puerto Calero. Outside is very spacious and there are 3 different seating areas for relaxing/eating as well as numerous sun loungers around the pool. This was great as it provided sun or shade options throughout the day. There was also a built in BBQ which was great. Pool was a decent size with outdoor shower and was cleaned twice a week whilst we were there. Inside the villa, the living and dining space was modern and spacious with TV, DVD, & decent WIFI connection. The kitchen was also a good size and was well equipped. Store room had double fridge, washing machine etc. and plenty of storage space. 3 bedrooms were all good sized double rooms with built in wardrobes. The main bedroom was particularly large and en suite. Both the en suite and main bathroom had good power showers. Very clean, spacious and modern villa and had all the standard items, beach towels, built in secure safe, rep visit (found Erika to be very helpful and organised return taxi to airport etc.) All in all a great time spent at Villa Carrida, we plan to return and would definitely recommend. I stayed in this villa and it was great - it was peaceful and secluded, very smartly done and with all the things you need.
