This is a superb villa suitable for families or couples. is in a prime location on the cliff top in the Old Town of Puerto del Carmen. For those who know the area, it is just in front of Villa Benedicte in the upmarket Risco Prieto/ El Toscon part of the Old Town.

It has superb views of the harbour and beyond across the sea. Beautifully furnished in a modern style throughout with a super kitchen and refurbished bathrooms. The two double bedrooms and the one twin bedroom all have aircon available for guests to use (coin operated with 1e or 2e coins). This is an upmarket, spacious, comfortable and stylish villa. The sea view terrace is partially covered and has access from both the kitchen and lounge. To the side of the villa is the private pool and barbecue terrace. The villa is ideal for parents with young children as the pool terrace is fenced and gated for child safety. the third bathroom at Villa Loretta is a tvery useful oilet, sink and shower room which is only accessed from the pool side. The pool will be heated in the winter months (November to April inclusive), has steps for entry and is surrounded by terracing and flower borders. Location
Villa Loretta, Risco Prieto, Old Town, Puerto del Carmen
This is a quiet part of town yet very close to amenities.

Supermarket: 2 minute walk (160m) to a Spar. Also a 22 minute walk (1.6km) east to Lidl at No. 1, Calle Juan Carlos I. A large well-stocked supermarket with a great meat counter for your BBQ. When paying just ask a staff member to call a taxi for you and they will happily do so.

Local restaurants/ bars: 2 minute walk (95m).

Biosfera Shopping Plaza: 13-15 minute walk (950m) to No. 15, Calle Juan Carlos I. Four floors of shops, restaurants and amusements including Starlight Open Air cinema playing 2 English movies each evening, a billiard and pool hall, crazy golf, and Cine6D virtual reality motion rides.

Harbour: 4-5 minute walk (280m) down the steps or a 6-7 minute walk (450m) down the walk-way, which is ideal for prams/buggies or wheelchairs. There are a wide choice of restaurants and bars in the harbour area. Great for lunch, dinner or a drink while an adventure playground keeps the children amused. Lots of choice of boat trips from the harbour including trips on a submarine, scuba diving and the Water Taxi to the marina at Puerto Calero.

Beaches: Playa Chica, a 14 minute walk (1km) is a pretty little cove surrounding by volcanic rocks, which is perfect for snorkelling and diving (a dive school is located here). Other sports enjoyed at Playa Chica are parascending, banana boat rides, single and double jet-skiing, Crazy UFO and Fly-boarding. The main beach, Playa Grande, a 20 minute walk (1.6km) is a long stretch of fine grain sand with calm waters, a very gentle shelf and little current so paddling and swimming are very safe.

Main Beach Road: 18 minute walk (1.4km) to the western end of Avenida de las Playas, the long 'strip' of restaurants, cafes, bars and shops of the greatest variety that runs parallel to Playa Grande. Beach-side, the palm-tree lined promenade is perfect for strolling, jogging, cycling on the red brick cycling lane (many bicycle renting places available), or just people watching. Don’t forget taxi fares are inexpensive in Lanzarote if you don’t want to walk home.

Puerto Calero: 50 minute walk (4km) go west along the coastal walkway and you will reach the marina at Puerto Calero, where there are lovely restaurants and gorgeous shopping. This walk is very popular with our clients. There is also a water taxi from the Old Town harbour if you don’t fancy the walk either one way or both ways. The restaurants in Puerto Calero are perfect for a long lazy lunch. The Water Taxi back costs 6 Euros and the last one leaves about 5pm.

Golf: Lanzarote Golf - an 18-hole public course, 8 minute drive (4.8km).

Zoo: Rancho Texas Lanzarote Park, a 7 minute drive (5km). Displays of birds of prey, sea lions, and parrots and cockatoos and you can also see other exotic birds and reptiles, including the Komodo dragon. Also a cowboy lasso and whip show, and the children can enjoy canoeing and gold-panning, pony riding, and then cool off in the pool.

Go Karting: Gran Karting, a go-karting track 15 minutes drive north-east (13km).

National Park: Timanfaya National Park, the natural wonder of Lanzarote has a unique 'Martian' landscape and rare plant species. To the El Diablo restaurant, a 30 minute drive (22km). A unique experience is it to take a camel ride across the volanic landscape (20 minute drive, 17km).

Water Park: Aqualava Water Park, a geothermally-heated water park, 30 minutes drive south-west (29km).

Markets: every Friday 10am - 4pm 100 stalls set up at the Plaza Varadero near the Old Town harbour for locally sourced fruit, vegetables and flowers, as well as handmade craft items, jewellery and clothes (600m). At nearby Tias, the Saturday morning 9am - 2pm Farmers market is an ideal place to purchase fresh locally produced vegetables much cheaper than the supermarkets (10 minute drive 6km north-east). Also, the biggest open-air street market in Lanzarote is on Sunday mornings 9am - 2pm in Teguise (28 minute drive 21km north-east).

Festivals: late February, revel at the Carnival or if you’re visiting in July, don’t miss the folklore performances, folk singing, dancing and vibrant processions at the Feast of St Carmen, patron saint of the city and fishermen.

I just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay at Villa Loretta recently. Fabulous villa, very spacious and well equipped with views to die for from the terrace. It was the first time our friends had visited Lanzarote and they absolutely loved everything. Laura is lovely and was very helpful. The four of us will definitely be back.

Just to say we had an excellent holiday in Villa Loretta. Possibly the nicest and best villa we have ever stayed in over the last twenty years or so. A credit to the owner.

Hi Sue & Andrea, another great holiday in Villa Loretta, as usual the view from the villa is beautiful, just to walk out onto the veranda take in the sun rising from the sea, and look down onto the port starting to come alive is spectacular. The pool area is welcoming with more dining tables and chairs along with comfortable loungers. To be able to have breakfast outside is wonderful with another dining table & chairs looking onto the Port. The space in the living area is huge with all you want from TV with all stations, Stero and a nice little library of books for relaxing. The fully fitted kitchen makes light work for cooking with a huge amount of dishes, cutlery, glasses and pots & pans & dishwasher, Fridge freezer. The 2 indoor bathrooms are great with good showes and bedrooms are also good. Location is great as a 5 minute walk brings you to a small centre (Montana Tropical) with a spar Shop, Italian Restaurant, 3 Bars, Beauty Parlour, and gift shop. This is our 2nd Christmas to spend in Villla Loretta and will look forward to returning again. Not forgetting to Thank Elaine & Harry for their upkeep of Villa & Pool. Wishing you all a Happy New Year & look forward to booking with Lanzarote Leisure Villas. Dec 2018

Hi Sue and Andrea, we have again had a great holiday in Lanzarote staying in two Lanzarote Leisure Villa's. My wife and I and our oldest daughter, husband and children were in Loretta, this was about our fourth time in this villa and our youngest daughter, husband and five children were next door in Benedicte, we have also stayed in that villa and three others over the years, all booked through Lanzarote Leisure Villa's. For the last ten years we have used these villas and always found them first class. The service we have received prior to travelling and also in Lanzarote have been superb. It is not only with the family we have been there celebrating special occasions but also with other couples who we have known well. We eat out all the time in the evening and there is a great selection of restaurants all easily accessible on foot. Three are within a few hundred yards the other down at the port or on the strip. There are steps down to the front so maybe not ideal for folk with walking difficulties although there are plenty of taxi's. We like a stroll in the evening. I would certainly recommend using Lanzarote Leisure Villa's. July 2017

Dear Sue and Andrea, We are back in the UK and it gives me great pleasure to pen a recommendation for Lanzarote leisure villas not only for the quality of the villas but the very capable team who make sure our holiday runs smoothly. I have been a very happy client on the many times we have spent vacation time at Villa Benedict, Villa Loretta and Casa Chica. From the time of the booking you have held my confidence because you have such high standards and are very honest, two ingredients which when unlocking the front door on arrival day assures me it's going to feel like I'm coming home. You must have a great relationship with your owners because they trust you to be selective as to who you recommend to share their holiday homes. That works well because it shows up in the number of repeats my family and other clients book with you. As you are aware we wanted to return again at the end of August this year and there was only one week available across all your villas which I have taken. So here I am going to Villa De Carrida for the first time and I already know that when I turn the key on arrival day I'll feel like. I'm coming home again. Thank you. March 2017

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Loretta. The villa is first class, it is very comfortable and spacious and was spotlessly clean when we arrived. This was our third visit to the Villa and we have booked again for next year so I think that says it all. You are 10 minutes walk away from the harbour and taxis are cheap if you want to go further along the strip where there are plenty of nice bars and restaurants. If you are looking for a villa that is private and maintained to a high standard - book Villa Loretta, you won't be disappointed. Oct 2015

Our second visit to this lovely villa situated in a superb position overlooking Puerto del Carmen harbour. It is very close to the coastal pathway leading to Puerto Calero and only 10 minutes walk to the old town. Villa has all amenities required for a wonderful holiday including air conditioning which is welcome during the hot summer months. Management and administration of the property by Sue, Andrea and Elaine is excellent. Villa Loretta Aug 2015

Excellent villa all round. Good quality furnishings and fittings, well managed, very clean. Fantastic views of the harbour and sea, was great to see the sun rise over the sea on Christmas Day. Good size pool, again very clean, heated but not 'tropical'. The management was honest in saying there was some difficulty in maintaining its temperature, so kept pool cover on when not swimming. Keen to return, not surprising this villa is always booked. Villa Loretta Dec 2014

We stayed at the beautiful Villa Loretta May 2014 for a week being our first visit we instantly fell in love with it. The rooms are very spacious and impeccabley furnished and the pool is very safe for young children having a gated area from the patio. The only concern I would make was the door leading to the pool (opposite the front door) had no key to lock this door when we were around the pool, this in our oppinion was a security issue. Would we go to this villa again? (in a heartbeat) May 2014 (LLV responded with an apology and a new key)

We are very pleased with everything. The villa is well equipped - leaves nothing to be desired. Corresponding transmitter now been installed in the TV for the German tourists. Here are professionals at work from the reservation to the stay all without defect. The location of the villa is unique and we will be back. Thanks for everything. Karin and Winfried. A great villa finished to a very high and comfortable standard in a brilliant location with great views over the old town and harbour. All amenities are only a few minutes away and really easy to get to. We travel to the island a lot using Lanzarote Leisure Villas and find the company really good to deal with. We've already re booked this villa! Villa Loretta summer 2013

I trolled the Internet looking for a villa that would sleep 6 adults and my 3 year old daughter. I eventually found Villa Loretta and booked through Lanzarote Leisure Villas. The booking was extremely easy, I asked a few questions including possibility of late check out and was pleasantly surprised when the answers were emailed within the hour. On arrival access was easy and our expectations were exceeded when we saw the luxury accomodation. Walking out onto the terrace there is a stunning view of the harbour. Safety was obviously considered as there is a gated pool area that children will be unable to access without adult supervision. There is also a lockable side gate which gives access to the steps down to the harbour saving you walking all the way round. The area surrounding the villa is residential and very quiet. The nearest pub/restaurant and grocers shop in 3 minutes walk away and the beach about 20 minutes walk. I look forward to booking Villa Loretta with Lanzarote Leisure Villas soon. Aug 2013

We have stayed in many villas in Lanzarote over the years, this one however exceded all expectations. Everything that anyone could ever need is there. The fixtures and fittings are to an exceptionally high standard. The view fom the terrace has got to be one of the best on the island. We will definitely be returning next year and beyond. We have visited the Island of Lanzarote many times, but this was our first time in Villa Loretta. We cannot fault the property or the facilities there. Much thought has been put into making the property extremely comfortable; the bathrooms are stunning, it is tastefully furnished and very spacious. Just the two of us stayed there, but the property would also be extremely suitable for a family or for 2 couples. The location is fantastic and view from the terrace also takes your breath away. You're close to the old harbour, just 10 mins walk away where there are plenty of good restaurants. You could not wish for a better "holiday home!" The management on the island are always extremely helpful and Sue Bardwell of Lanzarote Leisure Villas who handle this particular property is always extremely helpful. Congratulations to everyone for making such a fabulous property available, we cannot wait to return. May 2012

Our family of 3 teenage boys and ourselves had the pleasure of staying at Villa Loretta. We always book houses / villas for our holidays in various countries, and without doubt, Villa Loretta outshone any that we have stayed in to date. The house is deceptively large with a great layout that gives everyone lots of space to enjoy their holiday. The pool and outside area was a great hit and got lots of use - the boys still think that it was heavenly to jump in the pool after our days cycling to Arrecife. The location is great, being so close via the steps to the old port, its restaurants and the walkway in either direction, close enough to join in the activities of Puerto del Carmen, yet quiet enough to have a holiday away from it all if you wanted (or like us, a bit of both). All in all, Sue, thank you, Villa Loretta really made our holiday extra special. July 2011
